Genip - Guineps

The fruit of the Genip (Guineps) tree, known for their resemblance to large grapes with seeds, are enjoyed similarly to grapes. The outer skin is typically green and tough, while the flesh inside is juicy and can range in flavor from slightly tart to mildly sweet. To eat them, you crack open the skin and suck the pulp off the seed. Popular in the Caribbean and parts of Central and South America, Guineps are not only a delicious snack but also a source of vitamins A and C, calcium, and phosphorus. Their unique taste and nutritional benefits make them a cherished fruit in many tropical regions.
