Authentic Jamaican Asham Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup large corn kernels
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
Cooking Directions
- 1. In a heavy pan, cook the corn kernels over medium heat for 10–15 minutes, stirring constantly until they turn dark brown and some kernels burst.
- 2. Pulverize the cooked corn using a mortar and pestle or blend until finely ground.
- 3. Sift the ground corn through a fine sieve to achieve a smooth texture.
- 4. Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
