Jamaica Gingerbread Recipe

Ingredients

1. Sift the dry ingredients together.
2. In a saucepan, combine the margarine, sugar, molasses, and milk. Stir until the margarine has melted.
3. Add this mixture along with the egg to the dry ingredients. Beat well.
4. Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch by 4-inch loaf tin.
5. Bake on the center shelf at 325°F for about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
6. Let the loaf cool, then store in an airtight container for 48 hours before slicing and buttering.
